Details
This head turning, go fast cruiser with twin rudders, has cult status in France and comes from the worlds' only production yacht manufacturer building its hulls of plywood on frame. In this case a steel frame. It makes for a vessel that is lighter and more rigid than fibreglass and also provides thermal and sound insulation. Weight for weight it is stronger than steel, and when epoxy saturated (as in all RM Yachts) it's extremely durable, being rot and osmosis resistant, and easy to repair.
Coquelicot (French for Poppy) is rather an exceptionally well laid out vessel and provides the natural light and space so badly missing in too many yachts. There's nothing fancy down below, just well thought out design, simple, clean and spacious with absolutely loads of storage space. She could sleep up to eight people but is perfect for up to four. She originally had a swing keel which has been changed to a fixed keel and can (with the skills of a good shipwright) be converted back to her original 1.10 / 1.60 draft. (all paperwork and survey assessment of the keel modification is available). Her previous owner sailed her extensively around Europe and after sailing around the Horn across the Indian Ocean to NZ where her current owner purchased her; sailing her around the Pacific (often solo) and to Australia.
She comes with an excellent sail wardrobe, superb Volvo Penta sail drive, RADAR, wind generator, 5 year old standing rigging, water generator, a diesel heater, and plenty of spares. She's well set up for long distance blue water cruising and is easily sailed short or even single handed.
For those who appreciate exceptional boat building and foreword thinking design this RM1050 is certainly worth your consideration. She is located on her marina berth opposite our Manly Qld office, so please call Australiawide Boat Sales to arrange an inspection.
