Manly Fun Race this weekend!!!

Hold on to yer hats / wigs or whatever you decide to sail in.  Its the Manly Fun Race this weekend!  Competitors paddle, sail and run their way across Moreton bay and Moreton Island before doing it all in reverse and partying the night away at Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club! Not for the faint hearted, this is the 3rd year the event has been running, it is always a popular with a real mix of entrants, everything from small trailable boats to large cruising yachts.  Their are prizes for Best Fancy Dress, quickest boat on handicap, Quiz prices and lots more. St Helena Cup 2011

Fantastic sailiong this weekend, us boys on CHERANA won on IRC on Saturday and beat PAGAN which was more important!  Over 100 boats were out to compete in the St Helena Cup, Sunday’s start line was a little bit busy at the boat end of the line, many boats went over early so there was a general recall for start.  Great conditions, lots of laughs, what a great event.

St Helena Cup- Largest Race in SE QLD

Over 100 yachts are about to contest for the famed St Helena Cup, which has evolved into the largest and one of the most fun sailing weekends in S E QLD.  The Australiawide boys are prepared and ready to defend their crown, last year we won Best Individual Yacht and the Teams event which includes the St Helena Cup.  CHERANA our Tasman Seabird is ready for action and our Team mates PAGAN (Peter Kerr) and FAIRWIND (Les Brown) make up the B.O.T.Y TEAM.  Buggered Old Timber Yacht club.  This year CHERANA and PAGAN will also enter under IRC and race with the much more modern yachts.  Undoubtably the two oldest yachts on the course both PAGAN and CHERANA are extremely evenly matched.  CHERANA famed for winnng the Sydney Hobart and PAGAN … read more

The Wynnum Manly St Helena Cup will be held on 22 and 23 October 2011. This classic race is hotly contested each year, and in 2011 we will be defending our title on board Cherana, a Tasman Seabird 35.
